Training & Induction Champion

Responsible for the Induction, internal and external training of approximately 300 staff at three stores. Develop and facilitate numerous lessons, maintain accurate training records for all staff, coordinate use of the company training room by outside facilitators, monitor team development and arrange training as required, manage the overall company training programme and develop training initiatives/make programme recommendations to the Leadership Team, and strategic training planning.

Additional duties include assisting in developing a positive company culture through developing and implementing various recognition programmes, launching Wellness initiatives, maintaining the company organisational chart, writing and developing company manuals and team handbooks, assisting with company Health & Safety including the ACC Compliance Audit, supporting team communications, including being Editor for the company newsletter, and assisting in various store projects as required.

-Developed and introduced several forms of Induction, including the current, month-long programme

-Introduced a complete in-house, NZQA-recognised training programme, from development of lessons to teaching those lessons, verifying that the applicable material was learned and then assessing the material as a certified assessor with the Service IQ ITO.

-At the request of Mitre10 Support Centre, provided lessons and initiatives I developed, to support the wider Mitre10 Team nationwide

-Active member of the Health & Safety Committee and heavily involved in H&S projects, including the ACC Compliance Audit

-Finalist in ACC's national 2012 Idea Nation project, promoting safety in the home

-First from the company to graduate from the three year Mitre10 Management Development Programme

-Through own marketing techniques, recordings have reached people in all 50 US states, Puerto Rico, Washington DC, and each of the 7 continents in only a few years time.

-Guest singer for several conferences and events throughout the world.

-Designed own web site after initial setup, without prior HTML training. Added several pages, links, photos, tables, counter, and sound clips.

Flight Attendant Training Specialist:

Instruct, update, evaluate, test, and provide feedback for flight attendants and trainees on government and company procedures, corporate business plan, and safety procedures and equipment. Assist trainees with obtaining their certification, and current flight attendants in both successfully renewing their yearly certification, and in learning new material. Coordinate with a team of instructors, support staff, and administrators in several departments to ensure a successful training product is delivered to students.

-Initiated, planned, coordinated and produced an airport tour video used in flight attendant training.

-Certified Instructor in Tactical Communication, First Aid, CPR, & AED

-Created an original airline cartoon, "Plane Crazy," which was used in Training Department materials and company newsletters.

-Among top 1/2% of 10,000 company flight attendants chosen to certify, evaluate, test and make recommendations regarding the Fokker-100 aircraft as it was first introduced into the United States.
